Hagia Sophia, known as Ayasofya in Turkish, is a historic and architectural masterpiece located in Istanbul, Turkey. Originally built as a Byzantine cathedral in the 6th century, it later served as an imperial mosque under the Ottoman Empire and is now a museum.
