Global warming is the term used to describe the increase in the average temperatures of the planet due to the rise in greenhouse gases in the Earth’s atmosphere. Particularly since the industrial revolution, emissions of greenhouse gases from fossil fuels and other human activities have accumulated in the atmosphere, preventing the reflection of solar radiation back into space. This phenomenon leads to the warming of the planet and subsequent climate changes.
The impacts of global warming include the melting of polar ice caps, rising sea levels, an increase in extreme weather events, the extinction of plant and animal species, and changes in agricultural production. This issue presents significant challenges not only from an environmental standpoint but also from economic and social perspectives.
To combat this problem, various measures need to be taken at a global level. Efforts should focus on transitioning to sustainable energy sources, improving energy efficiency, preserving forests, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, as individuals, we can contribute by reducing our energy consumption and adopting eco-friendly habits.
