The history of the finds on the Datça Peninsula dates back to BC. It dates back to the 2000s. The first known indigenous people are the Carians, and the heyday here is experienced during the Dors period. The Dorians descended south through Thrace in 1000 BC and came to the region via Greece and established Knidos, the center of the Doric civilization, in Burgaz, 1.5 km northeast of today’s Datça district center. Knidos, which later came under the rule of Lydia, came under the rule of the Persians after the Lydian State fell into the hands of the Persians in 546 BC. These Windmills were built about 200 years ago. Before electricity was invented, these mills used the power of the wind to grind wheat and corn into flour.
