Omalo, It is one of the central villages in the historic Tusheti region of Georgia. Administratively, it is part of the Akhmeta district of Kaheti, 8 kilometers from the border with Dagestan. It is situated between the Greater Caucasus Mountains and the Pirikita Range in Tusheti. The village is the administrative center of the Tusheti region. Omalo is located ninety kilometers from the nearest urban settlement of Akhmeta.
