Beutong Ateuh, Banggalang District, Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh Province, is at an altitude of 556 meters above sea level. Historically, this sub-district is the legacy of a small kingdom that was under the auspices of the Kingdom of Aceh, long before the Dutch declared war on the Kingdom of Aceh on March 26 1873.
The Beutong people come from the east coast of Aceh, namely the Pedir Kingdom which is now Pidie Regency. Currently, the population of Beutong reaches 2,400 people with the main livelihood from plantations and agriculture.
